Winter comes with its share of colds, sore throats and seasonal viruses. Yet a gesture we repeat several times a day can have a direct impact on our hygiene: brushing our teeth.

Our mouth naturally contains billions of bacteria, many of which help maintain a healthy balance. But when we are ill, unwanted viruses and certain bacteria can be present in greater numbers and settle on the toothbrush. Being able to sterilise your toothbrush is therefore a real advantage for maintaining good oral hygiene, especially during the colder months.

A sterilizable toothbrush for maximum hygiene

At Berninox, hygiene is at the heart of our design process.

The handle, made of 316L stainless steel, is the same material used for surgical instruments and implants. It’s sterilizable: you can put it in the dishwasher or immerse it in boiling water to eliminate bacteria, just like your cutlery.

The interchangeable heads can also be sterilized. Simply boil them for ten minutes in a pot of water, adding a bit of white vinegar if your water is hard. This simple step removes germs without needing to replace the head.

Why sterilize your toothbrush when you’re sick?

During a cold or sore throat, certain viruses or bacteria can survive on the toothbrush and prolong recovery.

Changing your toothbrush after being ill is often recommended.

But with Berninox, there’s no need to replace everything: you can simply sterilize your brush and start fresh.

Just replace the head when the bristles start to bend, as this reduces cleaning effectiveness.

    Here is a toothbrush that combines a comfortable grip with a pleasant brush head. Thanks to the variety of bristles used, the gum massage feels nice and does not cause irritation (soft version). Moreover, this brush is very effective at removing residues and temporary stains (from caffeine or other foods). All of this comes with a substantial reduction in plastic use. Finally, the option to wash the brush head in the dishwasher helps remove the residues that inevitably stick at the base of the bristles. Excellent product, I can only recommend it.
