Une idée d’emballage cadeau durable et réutilisable pour les fêtes

A sustainable and reusable gift wrap idea for the holiday season

For the end-of-year festivities, we offer a simple, elegant and truly practical alternative to disposable wrapping paper: a fabric gift wrap inspired by furoshiki. This Japanese technique consists of folding and tying a gift using a square of fabric. The result is a reusable gift wrap that looks beautiful, with no tape, no ribbon and no waste. The added bonus: with this sustainable, eco-friendly and reusable wrapping method, the fabric becomes part of the gift and can be used again and again.

For our version, we chose a 40 x 40 cm linen square, perfect for wrapping 2 Berninox toothbrushes. The same furoshiki fold also works for 1 toothbrush or a starter pack, simply by adjusting the positioning and the tightness of the knot.

Just below, you will find our step-by-step photo tutorial to create this reusable gift wrap in just a few folds.

Once unwrapped, the linen square can be reused as a table napkin, a bandana, a small scarf or as a new gift wrap.

  • 1 – Prepare

Cut off the flap of the packaging to obtain a neat rectangle, then place the top edge of the packaging in the centre of the fabric.

  • 2 – Roll

Roll the fabric from the bottom up, wrapping it fully around the packaging.

  • 3 – Fold

Fold the upper part of the fabric in half, then in half again, and fold it one last time over the packaging to hold everything in place.

  • 4 – Tie

Take the two corners of the fabric, pull gently to tighten the bundle, and tie them together in the centre of the gift.
