Première édition réussie du Clean-Up Day

Successful First Edition of Clean-Up Day

On Saturday, September 14th, 2024, La Neuveville, Switzerland, witnessed a great day of community mobilization. For the National Clean-Up Day, Berninox organized its first edition, gathering around thirty volunteers, all united by a shared goal: to protect our environment.

A Strong Show of Solidarity for a Cleaner Village

Although La Neuveville is one of the most beautiful villages in Switzerland and is meticulously maintained, the issue of littering unfortunately persists. With this in mind, we all mobilized, from young to old, divided into collection zones stretching from the Chemin de la Plage to St-Joux, and through the old town. Thanks to this collective effort, we managed to gather 71 kg of waste! A large portion of the waste was sorted and recycled at the waste center. Notably, a significant number of cigarette butts were collected, which, despite their small size, can each pollute up to 500 liters of water in our beautiful lake.

A convivial moment to thank our volunteers

To thank the participants for their commitment, the event concluded with a musical aperitif, hosted by DJ Extrastunden (also a volunteer), during which the local council provided wine to enhance the celebration. Volunteers also took part in a prize giveaway, with prizes generously donated by Berninox, La New-Croix-Blanche, Pizza Mami, La Galerie Fleurie, and the bakery Conrad.

We would also like to warmly thank the winemaker Auberson & Fils for providing tables and glasses, as well as the farmer Marolf & Fils for the apples offered to the participants.

A success that paves the way for new initiatives

This first edition was a true success, and we hope it will be the first of many. We are convinced that this type of local initiative will help raise awareness among more citizens and protect our beautiful region for future generations.

A huge thank you to everyone who participated, to the partners who supported us, and to the community of La Neuveville for their involvement!

We look forward to seeing you at future editions to continue working together for a cleaner and more sustainable environment.
